Housing Assistance Payments (HAP)

Housing Assistance Payments HAP

The Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) is a form of housing support, whereby a monthly rental payment is made to your landlord and the tenant pays a weekly contribution towards the rent. Should a tenant find accommodation in another local authority area, HAP can be facilitated based on the HAP rates for that local authority area.

The Housing Assistance Payment allows you to work full-time, while still receiving housing support. To qualify for HAP, you must be approved for social housing support by your local authority. If you are already on the Council’s Housing Waiting List, you will be eligible for Housing Assistance Payment and you will be issued with a HAP Pack.
