Leitrim Holy Wells Project

The Leitrim Community Holy Wells Project (2026) is a community heritage initiative to research Holy Wells across Co. Leitrim. Holy wells, sites of heritage and cultural interest and significance, have long been part of the Irish landscape. We need volunteers, both individuals and community groups, to come forward to help undertake archival, oral history and field survey research. Training will be provided.

Road Closure - Cowboys & Heros (Decision)

14 May 2026

Leitrim County Council will temporarily close the roads at Derrygroan and Corgar (L5501/R199-5 junction to the R204-6 and the R204 to the R199) to facilitate The Cowboys and Heroes Music Festival. There will be exceptions for emergency vehicles. There will also be signs erected on the L1502 to advise “No Access”.

Road Closure - Carrick Carnival (Decision)

Leitrim County Council has decided to temporarily close roads and car parks on the quays from the rowing club to the car park and the road at Moon River (the L-3399-4 and the L-3399) on dates between Wednesday, May 27th and Sunday, May 31st 2026.
