Notice was given pursuant to Section 11(1) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) of the intention of Leitrim County Council to commence the review of the existing County Development Plan 2015-2021 and to prepare a new County Development Plan for the period 2022-2028.

Public Consultation Strategic Issues Paper

To initiate Stage 1 of the County Development Plan making process, a Public Consultation Strategic Issues Paper was prepared which was intended to stimulate discussion and to encourage public involvement at this early stage in the process so as to help identify what broad planning and development matters should be considered in the new County Development Plan.  The intention of the Strategic Issues Paper was to present background and some key questions to prompt debate on the issues facing our county.  It did not purport to cover all the issues but simply present some keys topics.

Chief Executive’s Report on Pre-Draft Consultation

The Chief Executive has prepared a report (7^th October 2020) dealing with pre-draft consultation phase of the preparation of the new draft County Development Plan and has submitted this report to the Elected Members for their consideration.

Development Plan Preparation Process

The process of preparing a new County Development Plan preparation provides for public consultation at 3 separate stages, which will subsequently lead to and inform the preparation of the new County Development Plan as shown in the graphic below:
