Broadband Connection Points
Broadband Connection Points (BCPs) are a key element of the National Broadband Plan providing high-speed broadband in every county in advance of the roll out of the fibre to the home network in advance of the main fibre deployment by NBI. 283 Public BCPs are installed on the NBI Network and ready for connection. These BCP’s are publicly accessible sites which have been installed and a wireless high-speed broadband service has been switched on in these locations through service provider contracts managed by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Schools
All 672 National Schools within the Intervention Area are installed by NBI and ready for connection to the NBI Network with 34 installed by other operators as agreed with the Department of Education. The Department of Education has confirmed that 571 sites are now connected.
