Rossinver Water Treatment Plant & Ancillary Works

Leitrim County Council proposes to seek approval of An Coimisiún Pleanála for a wastewater treatment plant and ancillary works in the townlands of Gubalaun and Sraud (Conolly). The proposed development comprises a Wastewater Treatment Plant, conversion of a wastewater holding tank to a pumping station, rising main pipeline from the pumping station to the wastewater treatment plant, gravity sewer on R282 and through Gublaun Estate, an access road from R282 to the wastewater treatment plant, and a flood storage basin.

In response to a Request for Further Information, significant additional information has been furnished to An Coimisiún Pleanála in respect of the effects of the proposed development. This additional information comprises:

  • Demonstration of consideration of an alternative site
  • Revised drawings showing a topographical survey of the site
  • Details of how the plant would operate in a flood event
  • Updated Natura Impact Statement

A copy of the additional information, including the updated Natura Impact Statement, will be available for inspection at the following locations during working hours from Wednesday 2nd July 2025 to Friday 25th July 2025 inclusive:

  • The offices of Leitrim County Council:
    • Planning Office, Áras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm (open through lunch).
    • Available for inspection on Leitrim County Council’s website at www.leitrimcoco.ie
  • The Offices of An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, between the hours of 9.15am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday

The additional information may be inspected free of charge at the above listed locations or purchased on payment of a specified fee (which shall not exceed the reasonable cost of making such copy).

Submissions or observations may be made in writing only to An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1 D01V902 during the above-mentioned period. Submissions or observations must be received by An Coimisiún Pleanála no later than 5.30 pm on Friday 25th July 2025. A submission or observation must be accompanied by the prescribed fee, except in the case of a person or body who has already made a submission or observation.
