Draft Carrick-on-Shannon Joint Local Area Plan 2025-2031
(Draft JLAP)
Leitrim County Council and Roscommon County Council, proposes to make a new Joint Local Area Plan for Carrick-on-Shannon and have prepared a Draft Carrick-on-Shannon Joint Local Area Plan 2025-2031 (Draft JLAP). This Joint Local Area Plan (JLAP) will be the first joint Plan for the town and will have a strong focus on the development of both the Carrick‐on‐Shannon and Cortober areas of the town. A Local Area Plan is a statutory document that sets out the land use strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of an area.
The Draft JLAP (Written Statement, Maps and Appendices), SEA Environmental Report, AA Screening Report, Strategic Flood Risk Assessment, will be on public display and may be inspected from Wednesday August 14th 2024 until Friday October 4th 2024 inclusive (excluding weekends and public holidays) at the following locations during opening hours:
- Planning Department, Leitrim County Council, Áras an Chontae, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
- Planning Department, Roscommon County Council, Áras an Chontae, Roscommon, Co. Roscommon.
The Draft JLAP documentation is also available to view online at the dedicated website, www.carrickjointplan.ie .
Leitrim and Roscommon County Councils now invite submissions from interested parties in relation to the Draft JLAP before Friday 4th October 2024. Your name and address should be stated in your submission, and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. Children or groups or associations representing the interests of children are welcome to make submissions.
