About Leitrim Arts
Creativity and the arts are vital to Leitrim and serve as a reflection of the county’s vitality and aspirations. Leitrim County Council recognises the pivotal role the arts play in society and how the arts are integral to cultural development, economic development, and the creation of a quality social environment. Through its Arts Office, Leitrim County Council develops policies in relation to various aspects of the arts; it provides information, advice and assistance to a wide range of clients and it develops and co-ordinates a number of programmes independently and in association with these partners.
Leitrim Arts Plan 2024-2027 is a testament to the commitment of Leitrim County Council to foster the arts and to provide for accessible cultural services throughout the county.
The Mission of Leitrim County Council’s Arts Plan for 2024–2027 is -
"to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of Leitrim by placing the arts at the centre of everything we do."
Our three core priorities in this plan are:
- Community Engagement - this is how we serve communities in Leitrim.
- Children and Young People - this is how we make sure children can make, share, and enjoy the arts.
- Professional Development - this is how we support artists.
There are also two cross-cutting priorities across all our programmes looking at:
- how we respond to climate change, and
- how we promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion through our work in the arts.
