Wifi4EU
The Wifi4EU scheme was developed to deliver free public wifi to public spaces in towns and villages across Europe. The main requirement is that broadband speeds of more than 30Mb/sec must be available at the location. These spaces include community halls, local authority facilities, playgrounds, tourist locations, sports facilities or other business premises which facilitate public access. High speed broadband must be available.
Leitrim County Council was successful in securing four Wifi4EU vouchers for four areas within the county and have delivered wifi4EU access points across the three municipal districts in Leitrim.
