Once Off Christmas Support Allocation 2024

Minister of State Alan Dillon has announced a once-off allocation from the Local Government Fund to assist a number of local authorities in the run up to Christmas. It is intended that this funding will be used to support Christmas markets, or other such events and festive activities such as Christmas lights, in smaller rural towns in these counties. These markets will encourage people to shop local and support local economies.

Announcing the funding Minister Dillon said: “By supporting Christmas markets and lights, we hope to attract more visitors to town centres, encouraging them to shop locally. This will not only help local businesses but also foster a sense of community and festive spirit”.

Community groups who wish to apply for this funding must complete Expression of Interest form by the 30th of October 2024. All completed EOIs must be sent to email funding@leitrimcoco.ie
