Roads in Charge (RIC)
If you are buying or selling a property it is important to clarify if roadways are under the remit of Leitrim County Council (LCC), to find out this information you can apply for a “Roads in Charge” (SIC) request.
Please note that Leitrim County Council has no role in relation to any other services or utilities (gas, electricity, telecommunications etc)
How to make your request?
Email us on roads@leitrimcoco.ie with the below details, remembering to include a map of the relevant property, with the section of road in question highlighted. You must also have made payment to Leitrim County Council and provide the reference information in your email (note, this is not a form, just an indication of what information will help with your query).
Applicant Name: Name of person who owns the property
Address of Property (incl Eircode): Address of property
Eircode/Folio Number Specific location for our engineers to pinpoint the road in question
Map of Property in Question: Highlight start and end points of the road in question with a "X" and "Y" so our engineers know which roads are of interest to you
Payment Method and Reference: Let us know how the payment was made
Price and Methods of Payment
The price for a Services in Charge request is €100 and is payable by Phone, Bank Transfer or via Cheque

Cheque payments are still being accepted but may occur delays and an email request is still required
What to do when you get your reply?
Once a letter is returned, you are required to send details to Uisce Éireann via email to ticqueries@water.ie to confirm if the water and wastewater infrastructure abutting a property is in the responsibility of Uisce Éireann – There are more details on their website, click here Uisce Éireann
