Conversions
A Vehicle Conversion is a modification made to a vehicle’s registered details. Most conversions submitted are for Vehicles which have been converted from EU category M1 to N1, i.e. from Private to Goods or Motor Caravan.

Once a vehicle has been converted, the following documents are required in order to tax the vehicle:
- Declaration of Conversion by a suitably qualified individual
- Before and After photographs of the vehicle to include full front & back view of registration number, interior and exterior photos
- Motor Caravan Declaration Form (if caravan conversion)
- Goods Only Declaration RF111A (if taxing as Goods vehicle)
- A detailed description of the works carried out
- Dated Invoices/receipts covering the full conversion costs
- Confirmation that any additional Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) due was paid – i.e. letter and receipt from Revenue
- Vehicle Registration Certificate – a new one will issue indicating the change of tax class
- RF111 Change of Particulars form
- Appropriate Fee – including arrears if applicable
Please Note: Tax Arrears are charged at the pre-conversion rate up to the start of the month in which the conversion occurred.
