Income Limits

If you apply to Leitrim County Council for Social Housing Support one of the eligibility criteria to be considered eligible for social housing support is to satisfy the Income Criteria. The income threshold is the basic measure of whether a household is eligible for social housing support. The determination of whether an applicant household meets the income criteria is based on a calculation of their preceding 12 months’ net average income prior to the date of receipt of application. Net income means that income tax, Universal Social Charge, PRSI and Additional Superannuation Contribution (ASC) are deducted from the relevant assessable gross income.

The Household Means Policy provides details of how your household income is assessed by for social housing support. It includes information about what income is taken into account and what income is disregarded (not taken into account). For example, certain social welfare payments are not considered in these assessments.

On 1 January 2023, the basic income limits increased by €5,000 for all local authority areas.
