Leitrim Local Community Development Committee
Established in 2014 as part of the Local Government Reform, the Leitrim Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) brings together representatives from community groups, statutory agencies, social partners, and business sectors. With a strong commitment to partnership and inclusion, the LCDC ensures that the voices of local communities are reflected in the planning and delivery of services that matter most.
What We Do

- Oversee key programmes: Coordinate and monitor delivery of initiatives such as SICAP, LEADER, PEACEPLUS, and the Healthy Ireland Programme.
- Manage funding effectively: Oversee the allocation of public funding - such as the Local Enhancement Programme - ensuring programmes are efficient, consistent, and free from duplication.
- Promote collaboration: Encourage integrated, cross-sectoral approaches to local and community development.
- Report on progress: Publish an annual report detailing the committee’s activities and outcomes.
