Over €2million paid out through the Croí Cónaithe scheme in County Leitrim

Leitrim County Council is delighted to report that the Croí Cónaithe Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant Scheme payments have exceeded €2 million to date, which represents 42 homes being brought back into use. Interest in the scheme in the county has been steady, with 229 applications received do date. Of these 163 have been approved which will enable works to commence.

For a property to be eligible for Croí Cónaithe scheme, it must have been vacant for more than 24 months up to date of lodgement of the application form with the Local Authority; built up to and including 2007; and the applicant must either be a going to live in the property or make the property available for private rental. If the property is going to be rented, then the tenancy must be registered with the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) and proof of same must be submitted annually to local Authority.
