Establishment of a Contractors List for Private House Grants 2025

‘Establishment of a Contractors List’ for the Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and Disabled People.

Leitrim County Council administer the Housing Adaption Grants for Older People and Disabled People.  The Housing Adaptation Grant for Disabled People is available to assist in the carrying out of works which are reasonably necessary for the purposes of rendering a house more suitable for the accommodation of a disabled person who is a member of that household. The Mobility Aids Housing Grant Scheme is to fast-track grant aid to cover a basic suite of works to address mobility problems, primarily, but not exclusively, associated with ageing, in order that recipients are not subject to delays in accessing works. The Housing Aid for Older People Grant is available to assist older people living in poor housing conditions to have necessary repairs or improvements carried out that are reasonably necessary to prolong the useful life of the house for the applicant. The Council is now inviting applications from interested contractors who wish to have their names included on a list of contractors available for the carrying out of works under the Housing Grant Schemes. This list of contractors will be published on the council’s website and will also be provided to applicants of the scheme in hard copy as required.  Please note that it is not intended that the list, once assembled, should be an exclusive list of contractors who applicants may employ to carry out works under the scheme, but rather should be considered as information to assist applicants. The inclusion of a contractor on the list is not an inference as regards the quality of work which an applicant can expect when engaging a contractor from the list. Leitrim County Council will not be held liable for any deficient works which may arise as a result of an applicant engaging a contractor from the list.

If you are a Contractor and wish to have your name included on the Contractors List for the Housing Adaption Grants for Older People and Disabled People please email the following details (Contractor Trading Name, Postal Address, Email Address, Contact Telephone Number to housinggrants@leitrimcoco.ie on or before Friday 30th May, 2025. Any contractor engaged by a third party to carry out works for the Housing Grant Schemes in Leitrim will need to be tax compliant and Contractors need to be aware of this requirement in providing their details for inclusion on the Contractors List.Following publication of the list, contractors can request to be added or removed from the list. Leitrim County Council reserve the right to remove any Contractor from the list should it be considered necessary to do so.
